Ambala

Ambala town is located at about 45 kms. from the Union Territory of Chandigarh. There are many myhts about how the city got its name. One says that the name Ambala comes from "Amba Rajput". Another claims that the town gets its name from the Goddess, Bhawani Amba. Yet another legend claims that the city got its name from "Amb Wala", which later got corrupted to Ambala.

The city is situated in the district of the same name in Haryana state. It is famous for the medieval battles of Panipat. In today's world, the city is more of an industrial town, with a focus on pickles and handloom products.

Rohtak

Rohtak is a 30 minute drive from the national capital of India, New Delhi. There are many myths surrounding how the city got its name. The first one says that the name Rohtak is a corrupt version of Rohtasgarh. The second one claims that it derives its name from the Rohtika trees, which were suposedly cleared up to create this city. The last myth connects Rohtak with Rohitaka of the Mahabharata.

Yamunanagar

Town located in the district of the same name in the north of Haryana state.
